elston avenue and i have sort of a love/hate relationship. i've taken it several times to go downtown on my bike, as it's the quickest, most direct route. it's also home to the only chilean restaurant in the city, bubbleland, leona's, and a village thrift. however, it's also an angle street which can be more confusing than helpful at times. and for some reason, it likes to hide certain places that i get a hankerin' to visit. one time i drove all over elston trying to find hollerbach funeral home. today i tried to find stanley's produce and almost got downtown before i decided to turn back and give up. oh, and one time prezza and i drove the same stretch trying to find a harris bank. i love you elston, but why so sneaky?
